Kids going to the wild west for VBS

The Atlanta United Methodist Church are holding their annual vacation bible school this week.

Vacation Bible School season is now coming to an end across Heartland churches this week.

Our cameras stopped by the Atlanta United Methodist Church early Tuesday night as they are holding their annual VBS right before the kids return to school next week.

This year's theme is "The Circle G Ranch Open Door Adventure." Kids kindergarten through sixth grade are going the wild west with this one.

But they are also learning some key life lessons ranging from loving one another, thanking God and believing in Jesus.

"I'm hoping that they will have a close relationship with God through what they've learned," said VBS Director Leanna Carriker.

Students are participating in activities such as bible study and crafts. There is even some music and games.

The kids told us they are enjoying this year's event.

Atlanta United Methodist Church's Vacation Bible School will run until Wednesday.
