Kids having a blast making art in the park

Kids talk about having a blast making art in the park this summer.

Heartland kids are continually learning to find their artistic side.

The "Art in the Park" program summer program is so far being a success. It's put on by the Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Kirksville Arts Association.

This week the kids learned about modern art. The kids were able to draw a variety of shapes and make some abstracts. We talked to a couple of kids about what they enjoy most about this summer art program.

Next week the kids will be learning about printmaking.

Art in the Park will continue all month long in different Kirksville city parks. Art in the Park will be taking place Mondays at Brashear Park, Tuesdays and Thursdays at P.C. Mills Park, Wednesdays at Jaycee Park and Fridays at Memorial Park.

The group meets Monday through Friday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
