Kirksville Air Evac turns 10
One medical facility is celebrating a decade of service to the Heartland.
The Kirksville Air Evac Lifeteam Base held a 10th anniversary celebration and cookout Sunday afternoon. Crew members and their families got together and reminisced. Some people got to tour the base and the air craft.
The Air Evac Lifeteam is an air ambulance service that providies emergency air medical transport from accident scenes to hospitals and trauma centers.
"We're really excited to be a part of the access to the patients here. We have a great crew on board. They're very excited. We hope to be here for many years to come just to provide patient care. That's what we're here for to make sure the patient has a positive outcome," said Kirksville Air Evac Program Director Travis Richards.
The celebration also coincided with EMS Week. Crew members were recognized for their service to emergency response.
About 40 employees have come through the halls of the Kirksville base.
