Kirksville Airport expects ridership increase over holidays
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, many travelers will be heading to the airport in the coming weeks.
This is always the busiest time of year for the Kirksville Regional Airport.
Advance ticket sales show ridership will be up in the next three months for holiday travel.
That's in addition to the 3% increase the airport has already seen this year compared to last year.
With the increase in air travel, airport director Glenn Balliew offers this tip.
"Book their flights early, our flights advanced booking are already up 13 percent this year especially for travel during the holidays and I will tell you at 50 dollars to fly to St. Louis you can't drive there and park for that so it's really economical to fly from kirksville to st. Louis. It's quicker, cheaper and that's what I'd advise you to do," Balliew said.
Cape Air provides three daily flights between Kirksville and St. Louis.
