The Kirksville 'Bark Park' is asking for help raising funds.
The city has donated land, and will contribute $20,000 towards the park. The Kirksville community is now responsible to raise a matching $20,000. The community only needs to contribute a couple thousand more.
'Bark Park' will be located at the current Roadside Park off of Franklin Street. The park will feature fenced in large and small dog unleashing areas. The park is something that Kirksville community members say is much needed.
"We are absolutely ecstatic with the reception we've received for our fundraising efforts. We started last Thursday to raise $20,000 and we are already almost to that point. We just need a couple thousand more," said Laci Cook, Bark Park Fundraising Co-Chair.
Donations for the 'Bark Park' can be dropped off at Kirksville City Hall or at Pawsitive Animalworks located on Baltimore.
