The Bark Park is one step closer to becoming a reality. Laci Cook, from Pawsitive Animalworks in Kirksville, stopped by the set of Good Morning Heartland to tell us more about an upcoming fundraiser you and your pooch can attend. WATCH VIDEO ABOVE to learn more.
The Fundraising Event:
The event will be held this Saturday, May 3rd at 8:30am at Brashear Park in Kirksville. Participate in one or two mile dog jog/walk and enter to win prizes by participating in additional events. Have a hot dog and Pepsi and meet other passionate dog owners of the Kirksville Community.
100% of your $25 donation will go to the Kirksville Bark Park ($25 per each 2 dogs attending). You can make checks payable to: The City of Kirksville/Memo: Bark Park
Schedule for May 3rd:
8:30am: Arrive/meet and greet Registration for Dog Jog. Area vendors and local businesses will be present.
9:00am: Welcome and contest judging: Best Dog Costume, Most Look Alike Dog/Human Pair, Tallest Dog, Shortest Dog, Oldest Dog/Human Pair and Best Trick. Door Prizes for Winners
10:00am: Take a walk or jog on the 1 or 2 Mile course, then treat yourself to a hotdog and a soda.
Event will conclude at noon.
All Dogs will receive a doggie goody bag and their owner 2 hot dogs and 2 drinks.
*For the Barks for a Park event, all dogs must be on a 6 foot or shorter leash at all times. Also no bicycles, roller blades, or skateboards, however; wheelchairs and baby strollers are welcome. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. You are not required to have a dog to participate. Please do not feed your dog for 90 minutes before or after the dog jog for the dogâ??s health and safety. Please clean up your pet.
