Kirksville was the place to be for bacon and car lovers this weekend.
The Kirksville Chamber of Commerce and Kraft Foods teamed up for the 3rd annual Baconfest.
The event had to be moved from the downtown courthouse lawn to Pickler's Famous due to the rainy weather, but it didn't stop the big turn out from coming to the event and from families having a great time.
Atendees brought canned and non-perishable goods to donate to local food pantries across the area.
"The childhood development center has some crafts. The United Way is here. Larry Whitney is grilling bacon out on the grill on the sidewalk for us. With a food donation, people got a Kraft BLT Sandwich," said Sandra Williams of the Kirksville Chamber of Commerce.
The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile also made an appearance at Baconfest and was a big hit for both kids and adults.
There also was Bacon Recipe Contest, the Little Miss Bacon, Young Miss and Miss Sizzle pageants.
Health screenings were also available at the event's health zone.
The Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee had a car show in conjunction with Baconfest at the downtown Main Street parking lot.
People brought in their restored classic cars to the event to show off all their hard work.
Awards were given out at the car show.
