Kirksville City Council filing to close mid-January
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
The time to file to run for a seat on a local city council is winding down.
Kirksville City Council filing opened in mid-December.
It is set to close on Tuesday, January 16.
Those wishing to run for a seat can file in the city clerk's office at Kirksville City Hall during normal business hours.
City council terms are for a total of three years.
This election cycle, one council seat is up for grabs.
Right now, four people have filed.
According to city documents, Phillip Biston, Glen Moritz, Kevin Alm and Jennifer Jones are hoping to win the seat.
Biston is currently serving as Kirksville Mayor and is a council member.
His term is up this spring.
The municipal election for Kirksville City Council will take place on April 3.
