Kirksville commission gets new liaison

Members of a Kirksville group get a new person who will keep them updated on Missouri Department of Transportation related topics.

At Tuesday afternoon's Airport and Transportation Commission meeting in Kirksville, MoDOT Area Engineer, Amy Crawford, was introduced as the commission's new MoDOT Liaison.

The commission heard from Crawford on how well the northeast district's new structure is doing since last year's loss of MoDOT's district office in Macon.

The commission also took time to share concerns with Crawford, including signage on the new Highway 63 and driving conditions on Route P.

Crawford said this type of two-way communication is her goal.

"This is going to be a good way for me to update them on what's going on with MoDOT, Regional Transportation Commission, Regional Planning Commission. I'm keeping them involved in what is going on our side and also allowing them to bring their concerns to me," Crawford said.

Also talked about at Tuesday's meeting were the final preparations for this coming Sunday's Cape Air Air Show at the Kirksville Regional Airport.

Officials say they're well prepared and ready for this weekend's events.
