Kirksville community encouraged to campout under the stars at Rotary Park

Heartland parks are participating in the Great American Backyard Campout on Saturday, June 28th.

The Kirksville community is encouraged to spend the night under the stars at Rotary Park, free of charge.

Tents can be pitched anywhere on the lawn.

The campout is a nationwide initiative by the national Wildlife Federation to encourage families and communities to reconnect and experience the outdoors.

â??A lot of times people take the outdoors for granted so were encouraging you to get out and enjoy it and this park is a great park and a wonderful place to be and why not try spending the night in it,â?? said Recreation Specialist, Robin Harden.

Pre-registration is not required but families are asked to pick up an information packet upon arrival.
