Kirksville Community String Orchestra begins Fall rehearsals

Rehearsal is back in session for Kirksvilleâ??s Community String Orchestra.
Thursday night was the first night of practice for the fall semester season.
The first public performance will be held Thursday, December 4th.
This season, the orchestra is working on arrangements by Mannheim Steamroller.
The American music group is known for its holiday-themed songs.
Director, Sandy Floyd, is calling all musicians, 7th grade and up, to join the orchestra.
â??We accept any type of string instrument which is violin, viola, cello or bass. We also accept piano and percussion. I have that covered, but Iâ??d welcome anybody if they wanted to show up,â?? said Floyd.
Those interested in joining should be able to read music.
Dues are $20 for regular members and $10 for student members.
Practices are held every Thursday evening at Kirksville High School from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
