Area fireworks vendors have closed their shops as of late Saturday.
The legal sale of fireworks began on June 20th in the city of Kirksville.
Vendors had until July 5th to sell their last items.
According to city ordinance, area residents had until 11 p.m. Saturday to light their last bit of fireworks.
The consequences for fireworks violation could be up to $500 in fines and up to 90 days in jail.
The Kirksville Police Department is charged with investigating and verifying peace disturbance complaints.
