Kirksville Fugitive of the Week wanted for multiple charges

Update: On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, Kirksville Police responded to the intersection of Franklin and Elm Streets in reference to a group of males standing together and one of the subjects pointing what appeared to be a handgun at a passing motorist.

Police arrived and at least two from the group fled into the residence. A search of the residence revealed one of the subjects that fled hiding in a shower with a small child.

While in contact with this male, an officer located narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia in his possession. The subject provided a false name and information at the time of this arrest and transported to jail.

The arrestee was identified as previous Kirksville Police Department Fugitive of the Week David Eugene Banks. Banks was also arrested on his warrants from Adair, Randolph and Macon Counties. Banks is currently being held at the Adair County Detention Facility.

During the course of the investigation, police determined the described handgun reported in the incident was an airsoft pistol.


Kirksville Police are attempting to locate David Eugene Banks in reference to arrest warrants from Adair, Macon, Randolph and Marion Counties for probation violation/distribution, delivery, or manufacturing a controlled substance, child neglect/non-support, and probation violation/driving while intoxicated.

David E. Banks, 36, is a black male, 5â??11â?? tall, 220 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. Banks has also used the alias, â??Ghettoâ?? and â??Ghetto D.â?? Banks has a tattoo of the name â??Erinâ?? on the right side of his neck, tattoo of a star and â??74â?? on his right arm and tattoo of â??Ghetto Dâ?? on his upper left arm.

Officers have attempted to make contact with Banks at his last known residence but have been unable to locate him. Banks previously lived in Boone and Macon Counties in Missouri but it is unknown if he is still in the area.
