Kirksville Lakes, Parks and Recreation Committee met Tuesday to talk about summer programs.

It's a busy time for the Kirksville Lakes, Parks and Recreation Committee.

With school getting out in just a few weeks, it means the summer season's just around the corner.

The committee met up Tuesday to make sure the city's summer activities and programs are ready to go.

There will be classes available, from tennis lessons to water aerobics.

Summer camps will also be available for kids in subjects ranging from theater to science.

'You can expect a full summer of fun filled with with great activities and appropriate for families and kids of all ages," said Recreation Specialist Robin Harden.

New this year, the committee will be holding neighborhood block parties in city parks.

They will also bring back old favorites such as Art in the Park and Movie in the Park.
