The outstanding student award is presented by a representative of the Truman State ROTC program. "Kade, he's not only taking care of what he needs to," Doug Reinsch, Truman State ROTC Representative said. "He's involved in athletics, and he's doing well with his academics and stuff like that, but he just makes those around him much better people by serving them and what he does for them." "That makes me a pretty proud individual to be nominated from the teachers, and just to know that they're watching the things I do and looking out for others," Proctor said. Nearly a dozen students were nominated for this honor. Teachers nominate the students, the counselors and principal narrow the selection down to one. The next award will be presented at the monthly faculty meeting in October.
