Kirksville Interchurch Ministries celebrates Good Friday

Christians of all denominations came together for a special Good Friday service at the First Christian Church in Kirksville.

Itâ??s an annual service sponsored by the Kirksville Interchurch Ministries.

The service is one of several events KIM sponsors every year in order to help local congregations learn from one another.

A special collection was also taken at Friday's service to raise money for the Food 4 Kids summer program.

â??So many people in our community are food insecure, so that means they may not be sure where their next meal is coming from, and so Food for kids just provides them with a safe place to come eat lunch, to hang out for a little while, play some games, sometimes they can try to win prizes, it's a good time,â?? said Kirksville Interchurch Ministries President Michael McCormack.

The next KIM meeting will be Tuesday, May 6th at 6:30 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Church. Speakers from the PEACE program will be presenting on their after school program.
