Kirksville is getting ready for summer

The Kirksville Lakes, Parks and Recreation Committee met at Rotary Park in Kirksville early Tuesday afternoon to talk about gearing up for summer.

The committee was in a holding pattern due to the unusual weather this spring season, but now that the temperatures are finally warming up, the group is planning for all the fun things such as summer day camps, swimming/tennis lessons, softball/baseball season at North Park, and of course the Aquatic Center outdoor pool.

"We hope to have a safe fun summer for everyone. We hope everyone gets to go out and enjoy our parks and partake in some of our activities," said Kirksville Assistant City Manager Melanie Smith.
