A northeast Missouri man faces assault charges after police say he hit a pedestrian with a sport utility vehicle.
Kirksville Police were called to the 600 block of Meadow Crest Drive Wednesday evening where they found the victim, Brittany Davis.
Davis says she saw a friend waving at her and when she turned around, and a white SUV was coming at her.
She said she didn't have time to get out of the way. The vehicle struck her and then drove away.
Now, Joshua Johnson, 32, of Kirksville, faces three felonies in the case.
He's charged with assault, armed criminal action, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police found Johnson at his home after Davis was hit.
According to court documents obtained by KTVO, Johnson admitted driving in the opposite lane of traffic.
Now he's in custody at the Adair County Jail on $100,000 bond awaiting a preliminary hearing set for Wednesday in Adair County Court.
