Kirksville man dies after passing on a curve, crashing
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a northeast Missouri man died Wednesday afternoon as the result of a three-vehicle crash after he attempted to pass a truck on a curve.
It happened at 2:15 p.m. on Highway 6 three miles west of Taylor, Missouri.
The patrol said Leonard Sims, 31, of Kirksville was ejected from his car after colliding with an oncoming vehicle.
Sims was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. where he was pronounced dead an hour after the crash.
Investigators said Sims' car struck an oncoming vehicle driven by Allen Massner, 80, of Maywood.
Massner and his 73-year-old wife, Rosemary, received minor injuries.
A third vehicle involved was driven by Richard Wilson, 50, of Baring.
He was not injured.
