Kirksville man killed in two-car crash, Iowa woman injured
A two-car crash leaves a Kirksville man dead.
The wreck happened right before noon Friday at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 6 East in Kirksville.
Police told KTVO a westbound car driven by Dr. Charles Willis, 66, of Kirksville pulled into the path of a car that was northbound on Highway 63.
The second car, driven by Miranda Ferguson, 25, of Bloomfield, Iowa, struck the Willis vehicle in the driver's side.
The Kirksville Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to cut Willis free from the wreckage.
Willis was airlifted from the scene to Northeast Regional Medical Center where Adair County Coroner Brian Noe pronounced him dead shortly after 2 p.m.
Ferguson was taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center.
A hospital spokesman told KTVO Friday afternoon that Ferguson is listed in fair condition.
She is expected to be released from the hospital Friday evening.
