535 years of combined teaching service were recognized in Kirksville.
The annual Kirksville School District Staff Recognition Dinner honored employees for their years of service, and thanked those that are retiring. The Kirksville Community Teachers Association also awarded the annual 'Teacher of the Year' prize. That went to Ray Miller Elementary third grade teacher Molly Tuggle. Superintendent Pat Williams also received a special goodbye. Williams will be retiring at the end of the school year after spending 30 years with the district. Williams served as superintendent for eight of those years.
The banquet ceremony is something that is held every year. The ceremony lets all teachers gather and reminisce on the past school year.
