Kirksville R-III staff still hard at work over the summer
Mon, 24 Jun 2013 16:01:18 GMT — Even though some children are out for the summer, the Kirksville R-3 School staff is hard at work with a wide variety of issues. Future faculty is being considered for positions and decisions will be made very soon. Numerous capital projects are underway like new roofing, carpet replacement, painting and parking lot repairs. New technology is being installed as well.
By the start of the fall semester, there will be wireless access points throughout all of campus. All of this is made possible by the school budget, which is being finalized and will be approved next week.
â??We received a small percentage of increase, but we're still only funded at 92 or 93% of what the state formula calls for, but that's been the case over the last several years. So we've made budget adjustments and accommodated for that within our budget,â?? said Pat Williams, Kirksville Schools Superintendant.
The budget will be finalized this week at the school board meeting.
