The Kirksville Regional Airport recently underwent a Federal Aviation Administration Inspection.
The airport received high marks during the inspection last week. Only one discrepancy was found, and has already been corrected. That issue had to do with paint on the runway, and the amount of reflective glass beads found in the paint. The Public Works Department worked to fix the problem.
The airport is also undergoing numerous improvements, such as purchasing new equipment and updating lighting.
The Kirksville Fire Department also helped during the inspection to simulate what to do if an emergency situation were to occur.
"It was a team effort for the entire city to do well on the inspection, and we were very happy with the results," said Glen Balliew, Kirksville Regional Airport Director.
This was the first FAA Inspection for Airport Director Glen Balliew.
