Even though school is out, the Kirksville R-III School Board still meets. Wednesday evening, the board approved several items, including purchasing new equipment items for Food Services. It purchased two steamers for about $10,000 and a warming cabinet and range for $5,586. As a part of the districtâ??s capital improvement project it is replacing nearly 1,500 square yards of carpet in classrooms and offices throughout the district. The bid went to Carpet One for $38,434. The district and the Orange and Black Foundation has been renovating Spainhower Athletic Field and on Wednesday night the board approved buying 10 heavy duty aluminum 4-sided picnic tables for $6,250 from Heartland Auto Sales.
