Kirksville teen involved in head-on vehicle crash

A northeast Missouri teen was sent to the hospital Tuesday with injuries following an afternoon crash.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol crash report, Natalie Halma, 18, of Kirksville, was traveling west on Missouri Highway 6, near Tolona, Mo., when the 2013 Infinity she was driving hydroplaned and travelled into the path of a 1998 Toyota Camry, striking it head-on.

The Camry was driven by Jeffery C. Smith, 37, of Lewistown, Mo.

Both drivers were transported by Lewis County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Halma suffered minor injuries, and Smith suffered moderate injuries.

The crash report states that Halma was wearing a seat belt. Smith was not.
