Kirlin's Hallmark prepares for closing
Kirlin's Hallmark has been a thriving piece of downtown Kirksville for over 40 years, but as a surprise to many, its last day in business is just over two weeks away.
â??Something about the economy being tough and I know that, so it's just something we loved and we're going to let them know, we love it,â?? says Kathy Chace, loyal customer.
With many wondering where they'll purchase Hallmark products at the same prices, city administrators are working hard to see you through.
â??My office is working to connect anyone who is interested in purchasing the inventory of Kirlin's Hallmark with the Hallmark Company and the owner of the building, which is also for sale. In my opinion, this is one of many opportunities in our downtown for entrepreneurs or small business people,â?? said Assistant City Manager, Ashley Young.â??Kirlin's has said that they will close this location May 31st and so if someone is interested in purchasing the inventory, they'd need to do so before that date."
â??Year after year, this was always a place that was reliable. We are going to miss it so much, I say we because I'm speaking for the entire community,â?? saidChace.
