Agency, Iowa — UPDATE-- The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of the individuals involved in Monday's fatal crash north of Agency, Iowa.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was killed. He was identified as Joseph Dale Snakenberg, 61, from Webster, Iowa.

The driver of the pickup was identified as Casey Eugene Jarmes, 18, of Sigourney. He was injured and transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

The passenger in the pickup was killed. He was identified as Cale Alan Conrad Jarmes, 16, also of Sigourney.

According to the Iowa State Patrol preliminary crash report, the 2004 Chevy pickup driven by Casey Jarmes was eastbound on the Bladensburg Road.

Investigators said Jarmes failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection at the Agency/Hedrick Road and pulled into the path of the oncoming semi driven by Snakenberg.

A fatal Iowa crash took two lives Monday morning.

It happened around 9 a.m. just north of Agency, at the intersection of Bladensburg Road and Agency Hedrick Road.

Investigators said a tractor-trailer was traveling north on Agency- Hedrick Road when it collided with a pickup truck that was traveling east on Bladensburg Road.

The tractor-trailer struck a tree and power line before both vehicles came to a rest on the right side of the road.

Wapello County Attorney Gary Oldenburger was at the scene Monday afternoon and told KTVO both the driver of the tractor-trailer and passenger of the pickup were killed.

The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital in Iowa City with critical injuries.

Oldenburger said it appears the driver of the pickup ran a stop sign as the semi was crossing the intersection.

He added that those involved were Keokuk County residents.

Their names were not available right away.

Authorities spent most of the afternoon clearing the scene.

The area was blocked off for more than three hours.

Iowa State troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
