A new health class is being offered in the Heartland for free.
The Northeast Missouri Rural Health Network (NMRHN )will be hosting a six week chronic disease self-management class.
Classes will begin every Tuesday starting May 13 until June 17 from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
The class will help explain how to deal with the disease as it progresses or regresses.
â??A person will experience a chronic disease one to two times in their lifetime, so it affects everyone,â?? said Jennifer Chrisman, chronic disease self-management trainer. â??It may affect you, it may affect a family member or someone that you know and to learn how to better take care of yourself and take back your life is a way to deal with that.â??
Experts say understanding how to manage the disease will help ease the stress and frustration on the body.
Those suffering or know of someone who is suffering from a chronic disease are encouraged to sign up for the class.
To pre-register for the class, contact the NMRHN call (660) 665-0330. They are located at 117 W. Potter Ave in Kirksville.
