The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation's last grant cycle of the year is well underway.
The Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund is a program that the Legacy Foundation put together to help non-profit organizations in Wapello County start projects that they may not have the funds for. Since the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund launched in 2011, the Legacy Foundation has awarded over $888,000 dollars to 59 different organizations in the area.
Applicants are allowed to apply three times a year, and the Legacy Foundation has grants that are available from $2,500 to $30,000.
â??It started because we know that there are a lot of organizations that are already doing great work,â?? Kelly Genners, Director of Community Leadership said. â??A lot of organizations are struggling for funding. There are federal and state funding cuts that keep coming down the pike, so we wanted to be able to support them.â??
The application deadline is Oct. 15th. If your organization would like to apply for a Bright Ideas grant, you can find out more here, or you can contact Genner at 641-455-5260 X 110.
