Little girl injured after running out in front of moving school bus
MOBERLY, Mo. —
A little northern Missouri girl was badly hurt Monday morning after running out in front of a school bus and getting hit.
The tragedy happened shortly after 9 a.m. in the 300 block of East Burkhart Street in Moberly, just east of Morley Street.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said London Kariuki, 5, of Moberly, was struck after she failed to yield and ran out in front of a moving school bus while attempting to cross the street.
The bus was driven by Shauntiel Lancaster, 39, of Moberly.
Kariuki suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
A hospital spokeswoman told KTVO on Monday night that the girl is in good condition.
