Local food pantry gets more food

The Adair County Mobile Food Pantry has some great news!

The Central & Northeast Missouri Food Bank is distributing more food to the mobile food pantry.

Usually, the food bank donates ten pallets of food, but this weekend itâ??s bringing 16 pallets of food.

Hamilton Street Baptist Church Pastor Charles Jackson said they are very excited about the extra pallets.

â??About three out of four months we have run out of food before everybody has gone through,â?? Jackson said.

â??We try to be really careful about our distributionâ?¦ we have gone through a numbering system too. And, thatâ??s assisted a lot so that we know in advanced before we start distributing how many people are coming so we can gage by how much food is there how much to distribute.â??

There are no income guidelines to receive the food.

The distribution begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26.

You do need a number to receive food.

Numbers will be given out beginning at 9 a.m.

To receive food you are also required to bring:

- A photo ID

- Social Security Cards for each member of the family living with you

- Proof of residency in Adair County

- Something to take the food home in

â??Weâ??re excited by the fact that thereâ??s going to be additional food and hope that will really help meet some additional needs for Adair County,â?? Jackson said.
