The streets of Kirksville are a now a little shinier, following clean-up efforts by area volunteers Saturday morning.
It was a beautiful, sunny morning for Kirksville residents to show pride in their community by pitching in to pull weeds, trim bushes and pick up trash all over the city.
All this was part of a community wide beautification project known as â??Make Kirksville Shine.â??
â??It's a great way to get involved in the community, I mean I go to ATSU, and so the community's always very welcoming to the students and it's a great way to give back,â?? said volunteer Whitney Knapp.
Organizers say every little bit helps to attract new business, increase property values and make Kirksville the best that it can be.
If you didn't have a chance to get out and help with the clean-up efforts on Saturday, it's not too late!
You can still do your part to help keep Kirksvilleâ??s streets clean by picking up trash and debris in your neighborhood whenever you have free time.
