Kirksville's McKinney Bark Park will hold its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. and the public is invited to help celebrate.
The new park was made possible through taxpayer money and matching donations. It includes separate enclosures for large and small dogs, waste stations and picnic tables.
â??The most requested amenity that the city of Kirksville add to its park system was a dog park,â?? said Assistant City Manager Ashley Young. â??It's our hope that the dog owners and the community members in Kirksville will really enjoy this park and more people will get out and utilize the park system.â??The city has future plans to include a new sign and a wall to recognize those who donated to the project. The park is located on S. Franklin Street and was formerly known as Roadside Park.
