The city of Novinger is mulling over a new ordinance to improve the overall looks of the community.
The city council is considering several options for a new mobile home ordinance.
The options can range from zoning to size to not allowing any single wide mobile homes at all within city limits.
It's been in discussion now for the past three to five years.
The council believes now is the time to pass the proposed ordinance to help the town out in the long run.
"In the recent months, we've had a huge demand for structure for folks to live in. The Adair County R-I School population is up 19-percent over the last 2 years. That's exciting for us so we're looking at developing permanent structures within our community for the long range goals of our community," said City of Novinger Mayor Jeff Dodson.
The ordinance will not be affecting current moblie homes already in the area.
Dodson added that he has gotten support from residents.
He and city council members would still like some more public input on this ordinance.
