2014 is proving to be a very busy but exciting year for the Macon Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber met earlier this week for their 2014 kick-off meeting and dicussed the events they want to get a head start on planning.

The chamber's annual banquet, "Taste of Italy," will be on February 28 at the Macon Elks Lodge, followed by the Chamber Golf Tournament on May 16 and the Fourth of July Fireworks Display at Long Branch State Park. And the fun doesn't stop there.

"There's organizations that do events throughout the entire year. The community as a whole supports these events everything from fundraising to our own public passions," said Chamber Acting Director Darla Dwiggins.

The Macon County Relay for Life was also present at this week's meeting to talk about their year plans for the year. That event is set for June 14.
