Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds met with the Ottumwa Leadership Academy on Thursday, March 27. The group is comprised of individuals from business, industry, education and non-profits. They traveled to the Capitol as part of their trip to learn more about state government.
Reynolds discussed the administrationâ??s efforts to bring quality, high-paying jobs to the state allowing young people to stay and grow in Iowa. The transformational education reform was discussed as Ottumwa School District was one of the districts that received a Teacher Leadership and Compensation grant for the 2014-2015 school year.
This is the second year of the Ottumwa Leadership Academy. It is a 10-month program that strives to educate, empower, encourage and engage future leaders to create positive change in the community, government and business.
