      Macon County man arrested on drug charges

      A theft investigation leads to the arrest of a Callao man on drug charges.

      On April 11, Macon County Sheriff??s Deputies arrested 39 year old David A. Farland Jr. of Callao, Missouri for unlawful possession of prescription medication.

      Farland was in possession of Clonazepam. The drug is used to treat anxiety and has sedative type effects.

      The arrest was the result of theft investigation. That investigation continues and additional charges are pending.

      For now, Farland has been released on a $4,500 bond.

      On April 11, 2014, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Macon County Sheriff??s Deputies arrested 39 year old David A. Farland Jr. of Callao, Missouri for unlawful possession of prescription medication. The arrest was a result of a theft investigation in Macon County, Missouri, in which additional charges are pending.

      During an interview, Farland told deputies he was in possession of Clonazepam. Farland advised the deputies he was using the Clonazepam without a prescription. Farland was transported to the Macon County Jail without incident. Farland was held on a $4,500 bond and was later released pending a court appearance.
