Macon County’s Rescue Squad and Macon Rural Fire Department rescued a young man early Friday morning from the water over Business 36 near US-36 east of Macon. They were able to get him and then his truck out of the water. He was not injured. The man's mother told KTVO her son did not intentionally try to drive through the floodwater. She said it was dark, and he did not see the water over the road until it was too late and he was stranded in the middle of it.

According to Matt Chambers, director of Macon County Office of Emergency Management, there are numerous roads in Macon County Friday morning that are flooded.

Some major roads include Business 36 at US-36 east of Macon and St Rt DD between US-63 and Ten Mile.

He is urging citizens to not drive through flooded roads.

The flood water has strong current in many locations and can push cars off the road into the ditch.
