Macon PD investigating attempted child abduction

The Macon Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a suspect in an attempted child abduction and assault.
Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger said in a written statement that at approximately 9:45 p.m. Thursday his department received a report that a 13-year-old male been assaulted in Jackson Street Park.
The boy was approached by an older man, described as possibly being Hispanic. The man was dressed in all black and driving a white van.
The suspect attempted to grab the 13-year-old, who reportedly defended himself. The suspect then punched the boy and fled the area.
