Man allegedly uses cold cuts in assault, burglary

A Kirksville man is behind bars on several charges after allegedly breaking in to a home and assaulting multiple victims.

Gary Cima, 30, of Kirksville is charged with first degree burglary, third degree domestic assault, and two counts of third degree assault. He is being held in the Adair County Jail on $100,000 cash-only bond.

According to court documents Cima broke in to an apartment located on North New Street in Kirksville. Upon entering the apartment he threw cold cuts at a female resident of the apartment and threatened to kill her. Cima tried to strangle the same female and when she fought back he punched her in the head. Cima's former girlfriend was also at the apartment along with five children. He allegedly assaulted her and another male tenant of the apartment.
