Man arrested for distributing meth near school
A man suspected of selling methamphetamine near a Kirksville school faces charges.
Aaron T. Smyser, 42, Kirksville, is charged with two counts of distributing a controlled substance near a school.
Smyser was arrested Thursday by Kirksville police. Detective Justin Jones of the Kirksville Police Department says the arrest followed a lengthy joint investigation by K.P.D. and the North Missouri Drug Task Force.
Investigators seized methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, cash, firearms equipment, a semi-automatic shotgun with multiple loaded magazines and two motor vehicles as part of the investigation. The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
He is currently being held at the Adair County Jail on a $150,000 cash only bond.
The agencies involved in the investigation include the Kirksville Police Department, North Missouri Drug Task Force, Memphis Police Department (Mo.), and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
