      Man busted for dealing meth near park

      An Mahaska County man is in jail tonight facing felony drug charges.

      Christopher Daniel Russell, 35, was arrested on Wednesday after law enforcement served a warrant at a residence/business at 515 Reed Street in Beacon, a small town just southwest of Oskaloosa.

      During the search officers found meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash and other drug trafficking materials.

      Russell faces one felony count of possession of meth with intent to deliver. He could get 10 years on that charge, plus a five year enhancement because he was arrested within 1000 yards of a city park.

      The investigation was conducted by the Souhteast Iowa Interagency Drug Task Force, the Oskaloosa Police Department and the Mahaska County Sheriff's Office.
