A Kirksville man facing federal charges was scheduled to go on trial Monday, however, he was nowhere to be found.Colin Shields, 38, is accused of scamming his own grandmother out of over half a million dollars. He is charged with three counts of wire fraud and three counts of tax evasion.According to the federal indictment, Shields is accused of diverting nearly $600,000 of his grandmother??s money from her accounts to his between January 2006 and February 2009.Shields, who had been free on bond, failed to show up for jury selection on Thursday. When his attorney was unable to contact him, a federal judge revoked his bond and issued a warrant for his arrest.Shields has been awaiting trial for nearly three years.
