Man hit in head with a hammer
A Heartland man was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after being hit in the head with a hammer.
The 911 call came in just before 9 p.m.
Emergency crews were dispatched to 109 East Buchanan Street in Kirksville.
At the scene, a friend of the victim told KTVO Josh Barrow, 21, of Kirksville accidentally hit himself in the head with the claw end of a hammer while working on a bathroom remodeling project in his home.
An ambulance took barrow to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Those at the scene say it appeared their friend would likely require stitches to the forehead.
