A Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B supervisor has earned a Civilian of the Year Award.
Roy Barton has been the building and grounds maintenance supervisor with Troop B Headquarters in Macon for the past 25 years.
Sergeant Brent Bernhardt tells us his outstanding work ethic and positive attitude is a big asset to the state of Missouri
â??Every year the Highway Patrol has an awards ceremony in Jefferson City where they present awards to exemplary employees and certainly Roy Barton is an exemplary employee,â?? Bernhardt said.
Barton was tasked with several remodeling projects at the Troop B Headquarters, including converting an outside building into an office for the Division of Drug and Crime Control.
â??I enjoy what I do,â?? Roy Barton said. â??We have a certain amount of things that we have to do, schedule to do, and then there's the other stuff that we can do and that's the part I like.â??
The patrol tells us Bartonâ??s actions are in keeping with the highest tradition of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
