      Man, teen arrested on meth making charges

      Anthony Brown, 49 and Keegan Yowell, 18, both of Kirksville are charged with one count of manufacturing a controlled substance.


      Two Kirksville residents are sitting in jail following a tip that a meth lab was inside a home in Kirksville.


      Anthony Brown, 49 and Keegan Yowell, 18, both of Kirksville are charged with one count of manufacturing a controlled substance.


      This comes after police responded to a home in the 1000 block of E. Pierce Street, where Brown lived.


      Police tell us once they entered the home they observed a thick layer of smoke and detected a strong chemical odor associated with the production of methamphetamine.


      Authorities then located Yowell, and in plain view spotted meth-making materials including syringes, coffee filters, and backpacks filled with the precursors used to produce meth.


      Both Brown and Yowell are in the Adair County Jail on a $75,000 cash only bond.
