Man, teen arrested on meth making charges

Anthony Brown, 49 and Keegan Yowell, 18, both of Kirksville are charged with one count of manufacturing a controlled substance.

Two Kirksville residents are sitting in jail following a tip that a meth lab was inside a home in Kirksville.

Anthony Brown, 49 and Keegan Yowell, 18, both of Kirksville are charged with one count of manufacturing a controlled substance.

This comes after police responded to a home in the 1000 block of E. Pierce Street, where Brown lived.

Police tell us once they entered the home they observed a thick layer of smoke and detected a strong chemical odor associated with the production of methamphetamine.

Authorities then located Yowell, and in plain view spotted meth-making materials including syringes, coffee filters, and backpacks filled with the precursors used to produce meth.

Both Brown and Yowell are in the Adair County Jail on a $75,000 cash only bond.
