Construction at Market on Main is progressing, and progressing fast.
The building looks unrecognizable from what it started as, with the roof now complete, the walls almost ready for drywall and all the different areas of the market starting to take shape.
"It's wonderful to see it come together, to this point, it's all been an idea on a piece of paper and now you can take the drawings and really see it come to live," said Heather Ware, Executive Director of Market on Main. "You can see where the kitchens are, where the retails space is, how this space is going to turn into what it's destined to be, it's just really exciting for us to see it finally turn into something."
If you want to see the market for yourself, head over to the Winter Market event on Tuesday, December 17 at 5 pm. By Tuesday, the building will be about 80 percent complete, and the community will have a chance to be wowed at the construction's progress.
In addition, about 25 local vendors will be on hand for crafts and food, including Cedar Valley Winery and students from Indian Hills Community College. Ware said there will also be an exciting announcement regarding the space at the front of Market on Main.
Tickets for the Winter Market cost $5 and you can purchase them at the door. A generous donor has offered to match dollar-for-dollar everything that is raised at the event and Ware said though their initial goal was $20,000, they are hoping to raise as much as possible.
