A Meals on Wheels employee is being called a hero.

After an elderly women, Mary Merritt fell into her pond and could not get up, employee, Tina Garr was there to rescue Merritt and call 911.

Merritt was in her pond for almost two hours.

Because of the cold water temperature, Merritt's body temperature was about 60 degrees.

Merritt broke her hip and was in the hospital for about eight weeks.

Merritt says without the help of Garr, she may not have made it.

Merritt says because of her close relationship with Garr, the company Meals on Wheels is to her, more than just a delivery service.

“It’s a good thing for the person getting the lunch, but it’s more than a lunch, it’s people caring for you”
