Meet 12 year old Linsay Henderson of Labelle. Agriculture has always been a part of her life as she is the daughter of 4th generation famers. She has been showing every type of farm animal from horses, pigs, cattle, and rabbits. But her main focus and passion is her goats.
I just got tired of showing rabbits and wanted to do something different. I thought goats would be something fun to do. They are just easy and fun to be around with.
Linsay has showed her goats at the Knox County, Iowa State, and Illinois State Fairs. She has won awards such as Showmanship and Grand Champion Overall. Behind all of that is responsibility and work Linsay puts into to take care of her goats.
You have to walk them everyday. You want them to build up their muscles because that what makes you win at the classes. You need to feed them a lot as well to help them grow.
Linsay has shared also some adorable moments with her goats.
With my goat Princess, when she was little, we were at the fair I would sit down and she would come over and sit on my lap and stay there.
Despite only being a kid, Linsay already knows that agriculture is in her blood and wants to continue with it.
I want to be in agriculture as long as I can and work with the animals. I want to do this for the rest of my life.
When not working with her livestock animals, Linsay likes to work on pictures and photography. She also enjoys her time in the kitchen with baking and cake decorating.
Congratulations Linsay on being this week TMs Ag Kid.
