A local Elks Lodge spent Tuesday evening preparing meals for a Christmas dinner to be held Wednesday afternoon.
The Milan Elks will be serving community Christmas meals beginning at 11:00a.m. Anyone in the Milan community is welcome to attend, free of charge. This is the first year the Elks will be serving Christmas meals. Those who attend can expect to be served ham, casserole, and desserts. The community is also getting involved and giving a helping hand by delivering meals to those who are unable to make it out due to illness or other circumstances.
"We thought maybe giving back to the community would be good. It's good for us and the community because the community, they are going to help us some on carry outs and stuff. They've stepped in to help us, and it's a good relationship for our lodge," said Ellis Shipley, a Milan Elks member.
The Elks plan to host more events in the future to give back to the community.
